Leah Nurik is an award-winning communications strategist who has worked for more than 20 years in the high-tech industry. Throughout her career, she has worked with more than 300 leading enterprise and high-growth technology companies and held senior strategic roles at both public and private SaaS, software and hardware companies.
Nurik founded Gabriel Marketing Group (GMG) in 2011 to do what she truly loves: marry changemakers with opportunities to affect change through innovative technology. Since then, she has successfully grown GMG year over year and successfully established its presence as one of the leading tech marketing and public relations agencies for technology companies in the U.S.
Under her leadership, GMG has helped more than 150 clients in multiple industries – from venture-funded, early-stage companies getting ready to launch to established, innovative public companies needing to accelerate adoption – and seen 17 of its clients successfully exit through profitable acquisitions. DC Inno also has recognized her as one of Washington D.C.’s “50 on Fire” leaders in 2014 and 2016, and she received a SmartCEO BRAVA Award in 2016 for her dynamic involvement in the D.C. tech community and charitable contributions. ACQ5 magazine named Nurik a “U.S. Gamechanger of the Year” in 2017 and a “U.S. Marketing Executive of the Year” in 2019.
Before GMG, Nurik held executive-level strategic roles focused on new market entry for Motorola and Symbol Technologies and led marketing efforts for several technology growth companies, both private and public, in the B2B cloud software and enterprise mobility markets. A highly sought-after and dynamic presenter, Nurik speaks frequently at industry conferences and events on the topics of purpose-driven business, entrepreneurship and innovation and marketing and PR strategies.
Nurik earned her bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H. with a minor in Spanish language literature. She has also studied at various levels at the University of Granada, Spain, the University of Deusto, Bilbao, Spain, Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University and Boston College.
Michiko Murakami MoralesSenior Vice President, Public Relations
Michiko Morales is a senior communications and marketing professional with over 15 years of public relations, communications and marketing experiences. She has led communications campaigns for clients in various industries, including technology, IT services, defense contracting, business consulting, higher education, consumer product, education, healthcare, non-profit, and financial services.
A senior communications strategist, Morales has managed successful media and analyst relations campaigns and secured coverage in numerous national and international media, including the Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Fortune, Forbes, TIME, The Washington Post, CIO, CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg News.
Throughout her career, Morales held a number of public relations positions, including senior vice president of Global Communicators, a DC-based international PR firm; vice president of Stanton Communications, a DC-based national PR firm; and senior counselor at The Martin Agency/SLAY Public Relations, a Richmond-based national advertising/PR agency. Prior to joining GMG, Michiko worked as an independent public relations consultant providing senior-level strategic PR and marketing counsel as well as media relations services to clients in the high technology marketplace.
Morales earned her bachelor's degree in public relations from Central Washington University.
Nick IlevVice President, Digital Marketing
Nick Ilev is vice president of digital marketing at Gabriel Marketing Group (GMG). A growth-oriented marketing strategist with more than 10 years of experience, Ilev is expert in devising and executing innovative web strategies for complex organizations and has created tens of millions of dollars in new revenue for clients. His overarching philosophy is focused on adopting an analytical, data-driven approach, while leveraging the transcendent power of teams.
Before GMG, Nick served as chief marketing officer at KlowdTV, a live-streaming entertainment and news subscription platform that was acquired in 2016. He previously managed his own web consulting agency before joining Hodgson Consulting as a senior project manager, where he serviced large corporate, non-profit and higher education clients and led a digital fulfillment team comprised of marketing specialists, developers and designers.
Ilev graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Amanda CoreyVice President, Public Relations
Amanda Corey is vice president of public relations (PR) at Gabriel Marketing Group (GMG) and leader of the agency’s enterprise and SaaS PR practice groups. An expert in developing and executing public awareness campaigns that boost brand recognition and build thought leadership, Corey serves clients as a top strategist and provides executive-level counsel and support, ensuring clients’ PR efforts align with business, sales and marketing objectives.
Throughout her career, Corey has helped clients – from startup to enterprise – across every major industry grow and protect their brand. In addition to securing top-tier media coverage that translate into measurable business outcomes, she’s also helped clients successfully navigate complex issues such as merger & acquisition activity and crises.
Before GMG, Corey served as a director at Xenophon Strategies, a full-service strategic communications firm specializing in public relations, public affairs, crisis communications, advertising & advocacy, and government affairs. Before that, she worked at The Castle Group, a full-service public relations and events management agency located in Boston, Mass. Corey started her career at Ervin | Hill Strategy, a boutique firm specializing in business development, strategic communications, government relations and public affairs. While there, she worked directly with congressional offices and the news media to support her clients’ legislative and strategic communications initiatives.
A native Washingtonian, Corey graduated from George Mason University with a bachelor’s degree in government and international politics.
Michael TeboVice President, Public Relations
Michael Tebo is vice president of public relations (PR) at Gabriel Marketing Group (GMG) and leader of the agency’s cybersecurity and consumer products PR practice groups. A media relations professional with more than 20 years of experience across a diverse set of industries – including high technology, automotive, aerospace/aviation, manufacturing and non-profit advocacy – Tebo is an expert in messaging and media strategies that increase reach and engagement among key stakeholders.
A trusted advisor to clients, Tebo has secured a wide range of front-page and top-tier news coverage for clients, and managed a number of controversies and crises including issues related to consumer product safety, high-profile cyberattacks, critical infrastructure safety, and industrial/commercial land developments.
Before GMG, Tebo managed the Washington, D.C. corporate affairs office for American Honda Motor Company. He also previously served as an account director at WE Communications in Seattle, Wash. Tebo began his career managing the press office for Georgetown University’s medical center and School of Medicine, and later founded the public affairs office at Resources for the Future, an independent, public policy think tank based in Washington, D.C. that conducts impartial economic research about environmental, energy and natural resource issues.
A native of Delaware, Tebo graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and Boston University with a master’s degree in public relations.
