Leah Nurik is an award-winning marketing strategist with more than 20 years of experience in the venture capital-backed high-tech industry. Throughout her career, she has worked with more than 300 early-stage companies and held senior strategic roles at both public and private SaaS software and hardware companies, giving her insight into the technology industry from all sides. Her resume includes executive-level strategic roles focused on new market entry for Motorola and Symbol Technologies as well as leading marketing efforts for technology start-ups in the B2B software, services and mobile markets.
Nurik founded Gabriel Marketing Group (GMG) in 2011 to do what she truly loves: marry changemakers with opportunities to harness the power of technology to evolve everyday life, business and human interaction and communication. Since that time, she has successfully grown the company year over year and established its presence as the leading tech marketing and public relations agency for disruptive companies. Under her strategic leadership, GMG has helped over 60 clients in multiple industries and seen 13 of its clients successfully exit through profitable acquisitions, resulting in a 65 percent CAGR over the last four years. Her entrepreneurial spirit and drive have earned her numerous marketing, sales, writing and industry awards, including being named CEO of the Year for Boutique PR Agencies, receiving multiple Stevie awards for “Women in Business” and being named to PR News’ prestigious “One to Watch” list. DC Inno also recognized her as one of Washington D.C.’s “50 on Fire” in 2014. In 2016, Nurik was honored as a SmartCEO BRAVA Award winner for her dynamic involvement in the D.C. tech community and charitable contributions. Most recently, she was named a “U.S. Gamechanger of the Year” by ACQ5 magazine’s 2017 ACQ5 Global Awards.
Nurik currently lives in the Washington, D.C. area with her husband and two daughters. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H., with a minor in Spanish language literature, and has also studied at various levels at the University of Granada, Spain, the University of Deusto, Bilbao, Spain, Johns Hopkins University, Harvard University and Boston College.
Michiko Murakami MoralesSenior Vice President, Public Relations
Michiko Morales is a senior communications and marketing professional with over 15 years of public relations, communications and marketing experiences. Michiko has led communications campaigns for clients in various industries, including technology, IT services, defense contracting, business consulting, higher education, consumer product, education, healthcare, non-profit, and financial services. A senior communications strategist, she has managed successful media and analyst relations campaigns and secured coverage in numerous national and international media, including the Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Fortune, Forbes, TIME, The Washington Post, CIO, CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg News.
Throughout her career, she held a number of public relations positions, including senior vice president of Global Communicators, a DC-based international PR firm; vice president of Stanton Communications, a DC-based national PR firm; and senior counselor at The Martin Agency/SLAY Public Relations, a Richmond-based national advertising/PR agency. Prior to joining GMG, Michiko worked as an independent public relations consultant providing senior-level strategic PR and marketing counsel as well as media relations services to clients in the high technology marketplace.
Michiko currently lives just outside of Washington, D.C. with her family.
Nick IlevVice President of Marketing
Nick is a growth-oriented marketing strategist with over five years of experience in leading digital teams and 10 years of experience in the industry. He ran a web consulting agency, Ilev Consulting, before joining Hodgson Consulting as a senior project manager. In this capacity he serviced large corporate, non-profit and higher education clients. Nick was responsible for leading a digital fulfillment team made up of marketing specialists, developers and designers. In devising and executing web strategy for complex organizations, Nick created millions of dollars in new revenue. His next engagement was a start-up, KlowdTV. There, Nick served as chief marketing officer, responsible for marketing and customer acquisition. After the successful acquisition of KlowdTV in the summer of 2016, Nick joined Gabriel Marketing Group in October of the same year. His overarching philosophy is focused on adopting an analytical, data-driven approach, while leveraging the transcendent power of teams.
